I find the self cancel takes far too long to turn the indicator off and I am presuming this time is set on a chip. To get over using the manual cancel switch (which is a pain), do any of you boffins out there know if this chip could be re programmed for a shorter time period?

Self Help!!!!

I doubt it, just re-programme your thumb:thumb

Or just don't indicate :hide

I find the self cancel timing is almost perfect for when joining the slip road of a motorway. In town it's too long but it's a lot easier to train yourself to switch it off with the flick of your right thumb than it is to be messing around with the bikes electronic systems.

Can you disable the self-cancel?

Mine's too long for lane changes and not long enough for turning at junctions. Do you have to just tap the button or hold it in for a bit or does it always self cancel?

cancelling indicators.

BMW self cancelling indicators do so on a distance covered basis. That is, they count the distance from they are set, & cancel 300 metres later.

That explains it. I knew I wasn't going mad, saying to myself, "I swore I turned that indicator on!", for the umpteenth time.

Cheers for that info.
