Indicators

SWMBO is having a problem with the indicators on her Piaggio. With the ignition on and the engine off they work fine, but as soon as the engine is started up, the indicators only work at best about one third of the time. Any ideas would be appreciated.

What model? If it's a classic Vespa style it might be a bad earth to the sidepanels.

Its the Zip 125, a 2003 model.
