Keyless bike how safe.

So, what was the point in posting a link to a website where car thieves buy their tools?:nenau

Looking on that site, it's as easy to steal as any vehicle with a keyed ignition.

Who cares if there's a point to a post, in this case its informing owners as to the vulnerability of there bikes.

It will be far easier than steeling a keyed ignition vehicle

No it won't. Have you seen the device on that website, used to steal a vehicle with a keyed ignition? Much cheaper, and much easier to use.

the keyless go is one of the best upgrades ive puchased, no more fumbling or losing keys:blast doesnt matter how you protect your bike if they want it they'll get it, it doesnt keep me up at night:D

Multistradas have been keyless for 4 years.
It is really useful , though it is possible to ride your bike with the key loaded into the lock of the undertray , potentially it could fall out and you wouldn't know.
It does have an emergency code if you lost it though , to get you home in case of failure

Cars and bikes in the BMW line use different software. The same reason an OBDII won't work on a BMW Motorcycle. Unless you have proof otherwise you are just blowing hot air.

Jim

Until someone confirms they've tried this device with a keyless GS then it's all conjecture (but that's never stopped the Interweb)

I'm not blowing hot air Jim, just asking a question, which you've answered thanks.

Have a few times left my key in the top box lock on my Multistrada 1200 Sport T and ridden off unaware, as it was keyless start. Thankfully it was still in the lock when I stopped and looked for key to open top box!!
I did find it handy (sic) too be able to start the bike without a key, also had keyless fuel cap too.
Now gone back to the 20 century and have a key thing to start my GS, urgh.

My 520d would pop its door locks every time I started my Rocket three next to it!!!! I started the bike and my wife would stand next to the car as I peddled it backwards off the drive with the bleeper to lock it again before jumping on board.
I must say it doesn't do it with the 5GT. The GSA didn't and doesn't effect either car so it's obviously the Rockets whatever's causing it. So for me and the new bike it's a good old solid key, the car I don't worry about, the company sorts that.

How do you find the 5GT? I had one when they first came out.
