no where for too long.
I need a way to turn off the keyless ride so I can lock my fob in the pannier or top box, and stick the pannier key in my leash to go surfing.
Anyway of doing this does any one know please?

Or is it a case of leaving the fob at home and using the red key? If so will salt water kill the red key?

Thanks in advance.

Get one of them little pouches to put it in

I guess the RFID pouch is the best most simple solution.
Thanks.
I've ordered one, I'll post the result when it arrives. Can't help thinking it's gonna be too close to the receiver if it's in the pannier, but Mr Faraday can't be doubted !!!

Im sure that will work as it should.
More importantly, can we please have a pic of the bike with the surf board mounted?!

Ahh yes I knew someone would post that.
I normally rent one at the surf point, or if I'm at my brother's place he takes the boards in his van, but it does fit quite well from pannier to engine bars.
I will post pic, but wont be till October as I have no boards here. Sorry.

I have a keyless focus and have tried it out with keys in a pouch, it works car will not start with keys in said pouch, so they do work.

Struggle to get the ignition to come on if the key is on the pillion seat so the top box should be fine

Was going to say the same - it only transmits over 1m, so very possibly wouldn't activate if in the top box. Think I'd be more concern about somebody ripping into the top box and finding the key, pouch or no pouch. Couldn't you leave it with the shop you rent your board from?

I buy the Defender faraday pouches off Amazon.

All my keys are stored in these.... or in my steel walled safe.

Just take the grey plastic emergency key. That has to be in very close proximity to the receiver for the bike to power up.

The pouch I have has 2 internal compartments, 1 blocks the signal, the other doesn't so you can keep the fob in there during normal use so if it's the same as mine the OP will need to check which one blocks the signal otherwise he could find his bike gone when he returns after he's been surfing
