Hopefully it will brighten up for you pal.
It gas now but toooooo late!
First 10 miles pouring rain then it went to drizzle as I climbed the mountain into the clouds. At the top the road split and I went for 7.5 miles of second gear work! More potholes than tarmac.
Saw the monuments then headed for Plovdiv. Through a town a ginger ran out fast from my left too close and fast to avoid. Front wheel ran over and dud a couple of wiggles and stopped just on the wrong side of the road facing a van 10 metres away
That was close.
Last 10 miles were torrential as I rode on cobbles through lots of flooded roads.
Of course, now it's dry, warm and sunny.
Roll on Romania tomorrow.

I saw it run away but it'll be bloody sore, at least. Thank f*** it wasn't a stray dog.
OK, today: First 50 miles heavy so I stopped at a cafe, had 2 coffees and waited for it to go off a bit. It did. Next 100 miles, in full wet weather gloves, light and medium rain. The last 160 in hot, dry sunny weather.
Sat nav set to fastest route and it took me to a ferry over a lake to get in to Romania. I just caught or I'd have wasted 3 hours. It took an hour, all in.
I'm now in Targu Jiu, Romania.

Taking on board your recommendation I am now in Sibiu, old town to be precise. Gorgeous large piazzas I'm now cooking and loving it.
Once my bier cools me down I'll explore.
Transalpina was lovely: hardly a straight bit of road anywhere.
