Tomorrow afternoon I am planning to replace the cat on my bike with a Y piece, does any one know what size spanner I need to buy to remove the Lamda sensor?

Cheers, Hank. :beer::beer::beer:

Think it,s 22mm, I know I had to buy one to do the same job.....but it was a few years ago so best wait for confirmation..from a fellow tosser :thumb

enabb got there first it is indeed 22mm (or at least it is on my Lambda probe)

sensors

Give it a good soak in WD40 over night as these things are tight!

Be nervous about using WD40 on the Lamdba sensor as it silicone in it,if any of that mirgrates to the 'sensor'it will kill it dead ( remember the supermarket petrol incident a few months back)and will not be recoverable so try and find something without silicone in it

Thanks for the help. I went to into town first thing this morning and bought a shiney new 22mm combination spanner. To save removing the fuel tank I dropped the cat out and loosened the lamda then wound the cat round until the sensor came out. The Y pipe is now fitted and the bike is running better than ever, only a slight backfire when snapping the throttle shut from about 3000rpm, will retighten all the clamps and hopefully that will cure it. Another job is to do the Steptoe cat code link thingy, if I have time I will do both tomorrow morning before going out on my I.A.M training run.

Thanks again, Hank. :beer::beer::beer:
