Help
After downloading a speed camera database to my 2610 I have lost the ability to find places apart from basics like cities and waypoints. I can't find on addresses and the points of interest icon has disappeared. Can anyone help (in simple language, cos I'm a bit thick!!)

You have to make sure all your POI files are in only one file, even your previous ones.

Is the "database" a list of waypoints, or a map overlay type?

If it ain't an 'overlay' type of map, you'll have displaced all of your POIs. The unit can only hold 500 (?) points.

I think its a map cos it comes up with a list of the maps - i.e. the Street nav version 6 and the speed camera one...

On the Nav 3 = 2610 you can "select" the maps you want displayed. I would think that if you've deselected the EU CNxx then you'd also have lost the ability to see the normal mapping level, is this the case?

I'd imagine that the real 2610 will have the same facility. I can't remember how to get access to this option but a bit of playing with the "options" and "map setup" and you should find it.

If it is a map then it sounds like you've deleted all the other maps on your unit when loading the speed camera one.

You need to load all the maps you want (speed camera and normal mapping) in one go as they always over write what maps you had on the unit previously :thumb

Hi
Thanks v. much for your help. I reloaded all the maps of the UK (the only ones I need at the mo.) and it is now back to normal. So, a lesson learnt.
Thanks again
Jon
