Map update problem

Hi,

I bourght the City Nav Europe NT (1010.10) update online during the weekend, and it kind of baffles me that I'm not able to do anything than update my GPS.

According to the documentation for map updates I should get an option to download an .exe or .dmg (Mac) which contains the update for MapSource or RoadTrip.... nothing, it will only update my Zumo nothing else.

Any idea how to get around that problem would be apriciated.

I've left a question for Garmin support but have not heard back from them.

After some lengthy email conversation with Garmin it turns out the the 'one time' download is worthless, it will only update the GPS, not the installed maps on the computer.

To update both the computer and GPS one needs to get the Lifetime updates.

I asked them if it would be possible to them to put a warning on the page so that other people do not end up in the same situation as I did. Nice people though, they refunded my purchase, so that I would not loose any money.

I have found garmin's website and products infuriating, but their staff ever so helpful. Weird eh?

Sorry to have to tell you this, but 2010.20 came out for the USA maps late July, and the EU version should be out very soon.

I saw, but as I was "forced" to get a lifetime update to get the option to install the maps on my computer I'll get it for free

Strange, I've just installed my original 2008.1 disc and updated to 2010.1 onto both a Mac and PC, and in both cases the new mapping is available for Road Trip and Mapsource respectively, and that's a nuMaps Onetime update
