Daft question I know, but it seems new ..
Rider mode won't change when actually riding, it only seems to want to change when stood still.
Is my memory right ? Can you usually change modes on the fly ??
Anyone else had this?
Also, where does that little bloody Red plug plug in. Mines plugged in, but I can't find the damn thing now ... Under the seat somewhere ...?
(Not got a manual handy to look)
Cheers

You should be able to change modes on the fly by toggling through them via the mode button on thr RH switchgear then pulling in the clutch lever to select that mode. You can also change the suspension setting independently of the mose button between road and dynamic via the button on the LH switchgear in a similar way.

On both 1200 and 1250 bikes the position of the coding plug is the same. See attached photograph. If by Rider modes you mean spring tensioning for load, then that can only be changed with the engine running at standstill with the engine in neutral. The damping modes can be changed while on the move. Changing engine mode also changes the damping and ABS modes unless the coding plug is in place wherein the plug remembers your selected damping and ABS choices.

Thanks for that. That's what I remembered, it's the engine mode (RH button)
That seems reluctant to change on the fly now for some reason....
Oh well ....

I always forget to pull the clutch in - thats the key.

I thought for the mode to change you select the mode, shut the throttle off and it changes.

Thought pulling the Clutch was the trigger ??

I think it's closing the throttle that allows it to change, rather than pulling the clutch in. You'd generally close the throttle when pulling in the clutch so maybe it just makes you think it's pulling the clutch in that triggers it.

It might be either/or.

It is
Just cycle through the modes to the one you want, then back off the throttle and it will stay on the illuminated mode

I'll try it again tomorrow chaps ....Thanks

Well...if all else fails RTFM :D

Seems you have to meet the following criteria and my pulling in of the clutch was just an associated action with closing the throttle :blast

Throttle closed
No brake applied
Cruise control off

I'd have happily read the manual, but it's at home, and I'm not !! :D
but thanks for the info :)

Thanks for all the replies. I've now found the little red plug. It was underneath the ECU, obviously been there since the engine was replaced. Had to remove the ECU to find it.

Still have the issue that modes won't change on the fly, no matter what you try to make it happen. Works fine at a standstill though....

I'm at a bit of a loss with that one now ......:nenau
