hi all
i would like some info on my r100gs
the bike is going for its MOT on Saturday and i have only got the oil and the generator warning lights plugged in and other warning lights are not plugged in would that be ok for the MOT or not
i have had problems getting the bulbs back in
help needed

i had the rev counter and the speedo out but i could not get them in

Any work inside that clumsy fairing takes forever. The only way I know of doing anything properly in there is to virtually dismantle the whole fairing.

Anyway, I've done some work with a hacksaw, and now it's a much more accessible handlebar fairing - looks better too :)

Sorry - can't help with any MOT advice

I

would suspect warning lights are not tested. This might give you more of an idea but the test is generally to ensure the machines are safe & roadworthy. As far as I know it is only obligatory lamps (i.e. indicators if fitted, & stop tail lamps etc.)

I had the unfortunate experience of reassembling my fairing last night - what a major pain in the arse.

I found the bestest way to refit the speedo was to put the lamp in first with the speedo out of the hole then tuck it into the hole, put the speedo bracket on & then by having the LHS plastic fairing bit just slightly attached & hanging off, patiently sliding the speedo cable in (which involved turning the rear wheel to line it up) & turning the fastening nut on the speedo without stripping the thread.

Ironically enough I had disassembled the fairing to paint it however probably scratched more paint off putting the bloody thing back together - the weight of the crashbars doesn't help at all:mad: I won't be doing that again until I pick up an acewell speedo & round single headlite.

Anyway sorry i can't be of more help.
