Mudsling update

Hi been out this morning, in heavy rain . First time with mudsling on , never been in such a mess seat back of helmet, boots and clothing , totally covered.in mud GSA LC 2014 any suggestions please

Fella, I think a rear crud might help - I guess I would say that (for the cynics amongst us and sadly I have come across one or two, bless `em) but here`s a recent message from one of us referring to the rear crud - it seems to work and may help?

And yes, its me who makes them but if it didn`t work I`d send you your money back coz I ain`t out to see anyone off, let alone on the forum. And yes I have a mudslinger (and a rear crud) too but haven`t had the time to try it in anger.................

Thank you.

For making such cracking gear... Just back from Touratech weekend where I followed a series of faster moving lunatics down gravel roads, up muddy banks, through bottomless bogs and up near vertical faces, (maybe i exaggerated the last two). The headlamp guard took a few direct hits but the rear deflector worked amazingly well too. I have removed the ugly plastic monstrosity from around the rear wheel and trousers and back stayed clean. Still running a 6.5" numberplate on the deflector and the slots make a very nice spray pattern up the plate... could be useful....!
So I reckon you saved the headlamp for sure.

Best wishes.

well for me a puig hugger did not work, still right leg got shitted up, so mudsling ordered and promptly delivered by the nipster. Ive gone a bit belt and braces on this one hugger/mudsling/tt deflector hopefully that should solve my issues :roll eyes: only dislike on the mudsling is that there are 4 cable ties to hold it on and the bike is starting to look as tho its being held together with cable ties :blast so i used 2 m5 button heads to fastener it to the under tray ..

Really?:nenau I've just spent the afternoon riding through TORRENTIAL rain, and my trousers are clean. They are wet, but on a motorcycle, when it rains no matter what shite you bolt to the bike, you're going to get wet.:rob:D

So....worth buying one or not?

Only you can decide if it's worth it for you, I've used a mudsling on a previous bike and whilst it did help to reduce the amount of spray generated from the back wheel it's by no means a complete cure.

Depends what you want. I want one to protect the bike from getting damaged, as I couldn't care less about getting wet or dirty. For that purpose, it works.:thumb Today, I remained clean, but wet, on a ride through a monsoon between the Grossglockner and the Dolomites. The car is always an option if wet or dirty bothers you.:thumb

I fitted mine this weekend, not been for a test run but it should be a useful bit of kit by the looks of things, sturdy and covers the entire shock and wraps round to the frame. Its incredibly quick and easy to fit. Price is getting a bit silly these days though...Nippy Norman take note you greedy barstard:D

Nutty, do you have panniers fitted for your trip? Just wondering if this is why your impressions seem good whilst others less so?

Nope, no panniers, just a soft bag on the back.

Thanks for the reply, not bothered about the keeping dry, more the cleaning of myself and the bike.

Hiya Nutty, the car is strictly for the work commute ;)

Yep im happy too, first real soakin today, really pissed it down, no more dirty legs, boots etc!, all the people sayin it could be bigger it could be this, could be that, your takin the piss seriously, the things fookin mahoosive already! They couldnt really alter it anymore and it make any more of diffrence, only one criticism really but an easy fix, the force of the water up the sling gets between the join where it mates to the existing plastics, easy cured tho with a thin bead of black silicone underneath out of sight.

My Mudsling arrived this morning and is now fitted - I am sure that it will work great BUT that is one seriously expensive piece of plastic!! I think I expected more for my money but you always have a choice!

Ordered mine on Thursday. Hope it's worth it as the Puig hugger looks better value.
