I know this has been discussed before but bear with me.

I’ve had 2 GS’s and I fitted them with Helibars to get through my back gate. I’ve now got a 1250R and sold the bars. The R just fits through the gate.

Now I’ve got a hankering for a GS1300 but the bar width is the problem. I’ve looked at the Wunderlich site and they sell a set which is 798mm wide. Unfortunately I think this is still too wide.

However I’ve noticed that they use the same part number from the 1200R right up to the GS1300 which leads me to think the standard R bars should fit the GS.

Do you think I’m correct in my assumption. Has anyone tried this on any GS?

Been through that. I had to get a wider gate just to get the GS through and there’s no more I can do.

That’s great thanks. Was it just a straight swap?

I’m assuming you did it because of clearance problems as well.
Straight swap, dealer did it during a service, we didn't know if it was going to work. I have short arms the width of the bars was uncomfortable. Solved the problem. Can't remember the part number but the bars are coming up on eBay now and again. The serial number is laser etched on the bar.

I know it a different bike , but I recently changed to more narrow bars on my multi due to a shoulder complaint.
Sadly it affected the characteristics of the bikes handling so much I had to change it back.

In what way? The bars are only 1" shorter on each side? Never noticed any handling issue, improved the ergonomics quiet a lot.
