Have a stebel nautilus and have noticed that it doesn't scare the sh*t out of people as much as it once did- it seems to take about 5 secs to get up to pressure before you finally get the proper deep tone- it just seems to just be a high pitched squeek before it finally gets going.

This is mildly irritating if you want to give someone a quick parping. When I fitted it I made sure that the horn was pointing down and have been careful not to blow water up it with a hosepipe when I wash it.

Any ideas how I can get it back to its scary best???

Exactly the same thing happened with my Fiamm horn. Despite careful positioning, the cause was water ingress. I simply took it off the bike and gave it a good shake. About a thimblefull of water came out and the problem was cured.

How about good old WD40?

Back in the 60s I had Fiamm horns on my car. They had a small oiling hole in the trumpets.

At your own risk!!
