Managed to stop my map update part way through at the w/e (it was taking forever to download - 23hrs remaining time ?!) and thought I'd got away with it but only base-level map on my NAV5 this morning. At work now and noticed that I had managed to download the map to BaseCamp at some point ("Installed maps compatible with Basecamp") over the weekend. Is there any way of getting the map from my laptop HDD (.gmap file type 4.6gb...is that too small - perhaps not fully downloaded ?) to my Nav5 ?

On my laptop, the "City Navigator Europe NTU 2015.40.gmap" file is 4.66GB, so you may be okay
You should be able to use Garmin's "Garmin MapManager" to copy the files to your Nav V
BTW, I did the original map update to my Garmin Nuvi and my computer and it started off at something like 4 hours and rapidly reduced to 2 hours. Which is what it took. I then did the download to my Nav V and it initially said 23 hours which was a bit worrying!!! And, again that download estimate quickly reduced and it actually took about 90 minutes

Thanks for tip - Garmin MapManager transferred it over in about 30mins in the end. Also made sure it's available to BaseCamp so can now plan trips without Nav5 being connected.
