Welcome Batman,
I went through about 6 rear TKC 80's to 3 fronts on my 800 before considering I wasn't getting quite the rubber economy I should. Dry continental tarmac and my untamable throttle hand seem to take a toll. It's definitely a fun tyre and other than the poor milage, doubtable grip in the wet and having to push down a little harder into corners they're great. Never scary but occasionally prone to a little speed wobble after about 90 mph.
Changed to the TKC 70 as soon as they released in Spain, lapped Spain back in June and just about to fit a new rear as its finally squared off. No wobble and proven good up to 110mph.
My advise use the 80's until you've had enough off getting the bike muddy and dropping it, go 70's for mileage and better road holding and easily achievable cornering angles.
No idea about engine oil other than where it goes in, but BMW at service deciding to put 10W instead of 7.5 in my forks made a huge difference for the worse after my Ohlins spring change.
Enjoy your bike.
PS for 30 quid I'd say the Sol be is the cheapest and best upgrade I've applied.
