Well picked up a 2015 super 10 from the very professional folk at Tamworth Yamaha after 70,000 miles on an 1150 gs.
I had a road test on the new Gs and a Triumph explorer both of which are fine machines
I really liked the Triumph but didn't really see the need for all that power and was constantly looking for another gear.
I also really liked the Gs but is really worth three grand more than a super ten ?
Vern from this parish said I should try the yam and I was not disappointed, also I thought that if I am having a new bike I wanted all the bells and whistles, plenty of electric buttons to play with ,and Japanese reliability seems a no brainier.
First impressions after about 500 miles are very positive, handles like a dream, very easy to steer and although it's about the same weight as the 1150 feels much lighter when riding, very easy to ride in town clutch light engine nice and smooth at 30 and fourty,on the open road feels very sure footed even though not been on dry roads yet.
Bob it onto story mode and it is very quick although the throttle is a bit too sharp,so it will probably spend most of its life in touring mode very handy though for a quick flick of the button for an over take.
Suspension on soft still quite firm and have not tried it with the boss on the back and luggage yet.
Little bit of buffering has been improved with a pair of winglets and will go for a bigger screen not sure which one yet any suggestions ?
All in all very happy with the bike although I do miss the grunt of the 1150 but after 70,000 miles you do get attached to the old girl and it was a fine machine, still in the family though as my son is taking it over.
