Arrived home today, it was a good 3 days but my back and arse are aching like mad due the time spent in the saddle (7hr ride to Edinburgh, yesterdays 13hr ride, then 7hrs riding back home).

Started day one with a ride from Sheffield to Morpeth for a cooked breakfast in Weatherspoons, then onto the A68 to Edinburgh. Our accommodation at The Gillis Centre was spot on, secure parking and a nice room in a lovely building. Only £40/night for single room with breakfast.

After a long ride unto Alness, above Inverness, we dropped back down to Loch Ness and had dinner at the Dores Inn (nice food )...

Then down the A82 through Fort William and on to Loch Lomand, then across to Sterling for more food , before returning to our accommodation. Then returned to Sheffield today. Spent most of the time in agony with a bad back. It seems I can only manage about 1.5hrs before the pain train arrives. Sadly neither my Sargant, Saddleman, stock seat or Air Hawk are able to help at all

Again, this is complete rubbish. One can only assume that you have a lack of knowledge of the geography and topography of lowland Scotland.

One of the nicest routes in Scotland. (and south of the Tay)

Excellent, the more of you plootering about between tractors, hedges, tea stops, tourist attractions, and caravans, the less of you clogging up the decent roads in the north, where you can travel for more than 5 minutes without some town, hamlet, or village getting in the way....

This series of posts on who knows where the best roads are,is in a way ,comparable to a debate on who has the biggest/best Dick. It matters not a Jot. Any route travelled is a good one if the weather and mood are right, A bike ,like a Dick is better used.
