Give my love to Alex when you see him . Ask about the Yeti and Spider-Man
I have booked the August Roof of India.
How did you get on with pillion, on the Enfield ?I have just (well a few weeks ago now) got back from the rode to Everest tour and it was great! The first time going from 1500m to a 5200m pass in just one day was a little bit of a shock, even walking slowly, but I didn't have any problems for the rest of the trip. I took a pillion, was the only one to do so. I was nervous about this beforehand but in the end there were only a couple of sections where they had to get off and walk for a few tens of metres. We were incredibly lucky with the weather. Had there been rain or snow I think I would have found it a lot harder. There was plenty enough riding "adventure" for me, I didn't need any more, there was only one day of rest once we got going.
Alex takes his missus on every trip I think. How did you get on with pillion, on the Enfield ?
Enough power - enough room - pillion happiness factor etc ? !
Thinking of heading to Alexâs Grand Canyon trip with the missus on the back in 2027
Ok ta.Any helmet will do but it can get very dusty up there hence goggles . I always wore a tour cross without goggles and was fine . If you can take a bag it can help at high altitudes. There are normally YAK duvets and blankets , but when itâs that cold you sleep in your gear ! I always take a silk mummy sleeping bag liner as it gives a bit of protection from the previous occupant !! Have fun
I am bringing an older textile suit because it can get quite chilly in Tibet that I plan to leave behind at end of the trip and a mesh jacket and armoured jeans for when it's warmer, I have vacuum packed most of the stuff and some waterproofs .Safe easy travels hopefully for you
What riding suit / outfit are you going with ?
Iâm still undecided what to wear, waterproof adventure type suit or much more comfy and flexible Marrakesh jacket, layers and jeans with my waterproofs.
Two suits for a ten day tour? You donât subscribe to the âlight is rightâ philosophy then?I am bringing an older textile suit because it can get quite chilly in Tibet that I plan to leave behind at end of the trip and a mesh jacket and armoured jeans for when it's warmer, I have vacuum packed most of the stuff and some waterproofs .

Iâve decided itâs the Marrakesh jacket, Linesman pants and a shit load of layers for me.I am bringing an older textile suit because it can get quite chilly in Tibet that I plan to leave behind at end of the trip and a mesh jacket and armoured jeans for when it's warmer, I have vacuum packed most of the stuff and some waterproofs .
âŠ.need to buy a 3L hydration bladder so any recommendations on this would be very much appreciated.
Top tip:
Take care with a three litre hydration bag, if you only have a half pint bladder,
