July earliest

Trying to finalise some dates.
Out Friday and Sunday on recon. Many tales to tell, will post some piccies this eve. ALL trails will be 1150/1200 able (based on fact we've done 'em two up). The ones we crashed out...ahem :o will be avoided, and some choices on the day. It's the roads that will be as much of a challenge ;) . Who books the weather for club events

Jez - sh*t man, you want to stay up later, drink more, and stay in bed later on a morning - gets 'round the dew probs. At the farmyard we doss out on sunrise and wake as late as poss' - give it a go:D These racer blerks can ride within days of broken pelvis's, so we'll expect to see you for this one

Dave - Won't clash with any other events, will be up at w/e if not Pishing down, otherwise we'll be up another w/e, will drop you a line later in week

One we might (the road approach before being more the hazard with 1in5 hairpins, gravel, and a give way…oh yes ! Think we’ll employ a bankswoman for that bit, I’ll have a handy one with me ) if weather OK

One we won’t. Den, it’s another ford mate – but this ones a naughty one, more dangerous than rear ending a Pinto, this one was pre-greased granite setts and took us straight off…… in fact I could hardy walk through it. Bev, to give her credit, got soaked and never complained. I *****ed me leg until I stopped hopping and swearing and then noticed the dents in the rocker cover (bummer) crash bars only help on tarmac. Mental note to include Ernies crashbars in our order. I always though laminated maps were for puffs – hmmmm….shame ours went in with Bev….lamination…..that sounds a good idea !

Again, we WON’T be using this ford, he’s me being as careful as can be, and I entered straight….exited all over the ****n place ! Two more fords on possible route home, but they’re safe. Granite setts under cover – avoid crossing, even on foot !

All routes will be easier rather than difficult – but of course the onus is on you riders. I’ve never had a trail bike, only ridden road bikes (and now the GS) off road, and all two up, so me no hero ! Just case anyone’s having second thoughts

I'll stick a poll on for a few different options in next few dates, along with a fixed date ;)

Just to reinforce GS's ONLY, it's planned to be OK for all, so no-one turning up on their 'second bikes', I know, old fashioned aren't I ! Sorry Jez, no powered wheel chairs either  get better soon :)
I'm looking forward to this ;)

hi all ,anytime for us EXCEPT garmish or horizon's and the photo's look great(scenery:) loz+di

Garmish - when that then ?
Looking like w/e of 24th/25th July. We can watch the planes going up and down to the Sunderland Airshow while we're on (if you dare look to skies  ). Otherwise it's getting to the shooting season, which doesn't prevent it, but best to ease these events in hope we can continue in future

As promised I'll stick a poll and some options on either before b/h, or after. ;)

Yellow bikes too?

The Bird is dead keen if this is do-able 2-up. So count us in (if VERY yellow bikes are allowed), failing that we'll just form our own club instead. Means i'll have to drop the level of yellowness by putting the wire wheels and tourances back on, but that might be less offensive as far as general consumption is concerned.

Cheers

Distinctly do-able two up (though I can't speak for everyone obviously, my assumption is slowly does it, and no mud, just hard tracks without too steep slopes, then even if wet we should be right. Not designed for heroes, all trails have been riden two up by us)
My lawyers also point out that you may pick up stone chips in your paintwork whilst riding :( (and on the on-road sections !) and even the possibility of 'falling off' :nono . But that can happen to the best of us, even at the BMF (soz Jez that was uncalled for mate  )
I'm assuming the 'bird' and 'v yellow' don't mean your talking of a canary - if so, I wouldn't advice the off road two up, trill will get everywhere and the rattling cage could cause a real nuissance to the rest of us :P
:hapybnce:

count me back in (possibly)

I should be back on the bike by then, hoping to do Horizons Unlimited as first ride out then Kelso. If all goes well then I'm there:hapybnce: :moped:

There was to be a nice link from road via trail to road to get us here, but green lane closed for repairs (no really) 'til March, but now Sept this year - bummer. But at least not closed for ever.........
(all that is behind (x2) is easy (with care). You could take a car along the majority of it......but very carefully !)
