A wee queerie, guys.
It seems my 1150 got inadvertently overfilled with oil- only just above the sight glass (with engine cold) so maybe 200cc or so, maybe less. Anyway, I removed the airbox drain plug after a run and oil poured out. The oil drain plug was subsequently removed briefly and then the oil was topped up to the halfway point on the glass.
This was all discovered just before leaving on holiday on the bike. I checked this morning after covering about 120 miles and a small amount came out the airbox drain plug- maybe slightly more than a tablespoon's worth. Have now done about another 250 miles and plan to remove it again in the morning. The bike appears to be running the same as usual and I can't say I've noticed any smoke. Anyway, the question is, should I open up the airbox and clean it out and clean inlet rubbers, throttle bodies and spark plugs or is this quite normal and nothing to worry about? I have seen this before on an 1150 and the inlet rubbers and throttle bodies were coated in oil.
I plan to open up the airbox in the morning and have a look. Just wondered on others' thoughts.
Cheers
