THE BACKGROUND
PREVIOUS POSTS

Recently obtained a GSA which needed some attention under warranty - Namely:
Warped disks
New Pads
Rear Shock

Got this all confirmed in a visit to PARK LANE - BATTERSEA AFTER CARE!(PL) and booked the bike in for work / replacements etc.

Called last Friday (28th May) to confirm booking and that all parts in - YES SIR! = Happy Mr Commuter.

Tuesday, 1st June:
Deliver bike at 07.30. Arrange as I am away from London for the night to collect the bike Wednesday Evening = Happy Mr Commuter

Wednesday 2nd June:
No call from PL so I called them. I wouldn't bore you with the telephone nightmare also as this is one my secretary loved!! (e.g one call took 40 minutes to be answered)

Net result of the call: My bike is not ready! INFACT THEY HAVEN'T STARTED! WTF!
It is explained that a fork slider in missing from the order and that they are on Back Order - GERMANY.....When will my bike be ready then.....2 weeks? WTF

I suggest that the sliders are left and I have the bike back with disks, pads and shock (if it needs replacing) and arrange to come back when the parts are in.... That will incure an extra labour charge.....MY answer: I don't care I am not paying it is under warranty work! We will call you back Mr Commuter!

I am called and informed that Thursday morning I will be called when the bike is done for collection! 12 midday to be precise.

Thursday 3rd June:
12midday telephone rings......PL calling:D
We are working on your bike and find nothing wrong....who told you somehting was wrong............WTF:confused:

I explain the above I have explained here and that it is warranty work......Nothing wrong sir..

Image this Conversation:

Have you test driven the bike? NO....Can I suggest you do that......YES.......Call me when you have?......YES. Long story short.....bike is reassembled, ridden and pronounced faulty...
NEW DISKS REQUIRED!!!!!!  SHOCK is Busted tooo!

We will call you later today with a collection time.

THE SOLUTION:
18.00 NOTHING, NO CALL. I call AGAIN.......
I call and Jason answers the phone.....This chap is sharp I think, hummm let me see. When will my bike be ready? I will check and call you back personally in 5 minutes as you have had so many problems.

5 minutes PL calling......you bike is on the bence, in bits and I will call you at 10.30 in the morning with an update. I ask who is in charge there....I AM SIR JASON SIR........GREAT, can we have a coffee when I come to collect the bike? No problem SIR.

Friday, 4th June. (3days LATER)
10.30 Jason calls. Your bike is just getting its Fork Sliders, SHOCK, Disks and Pads and will be ready after lunch......can we deliver. I ask for a call to confirm at 14.00. 14.00 I get a call, 15.00 bike ready, just being VALETED SIR.

COLLECTION

I collected the bike at 16.00 all work finished to a high standard and meet Jason the new Service manager at PL.

He apologises and I spend 15 minutes explaining that PL is viewed as a shit hole and that you risk never getting your bike back etc.

He has reassured me, he is here to help and make it better, am I convinced?...not yet.

Care must be taken with PL, you may get one great piece of service but then be dissappointed when you return.......

Anyway, I off out for a ride after 5 days without a ridable bike.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

Maybe a good idea would be for some enterprising fellow to get a stickers made up stating. " The standard of servicing and customer treatment will be reported and discussed on the the UKGSER forum. Any adverse comments may affect your custom"
It could be stuck on top of the fusebox
You never know, it might make a difference.

A new section could be added under the heading. Service reports.

ankers

A better idea would be for every one who reads this, send Park Lane an email telling them you had read how bad they are????

What makes you think some dealers will even bother to take the saddle off? For that matter, what makes you think some of them can even read?;)
