Can anyone tell me if the blanking plate used on the pillion seat of a Rallye GS fits the same space but using a "Normal" rider seat instead of a Rallye one. 1250GS. Ta, Del

I have also thought of this, But never tried it. ill get back to you![]()

I suspect you're looking at the Luggage Plate rather than the Rallye rear plate. This is mine...
This is the answer you seek....
Found it now, but its no use as i would have to remove grab rails. Dont want topbox where it would mount using luggage plate, just panniers.

Is that luggage plate a BMW part ?
There you go del boy.....
Is that luggage plate a BMW part ?
Or....Where can I get one ?

I've had both the BMW seatplate and the SW Motech equivalent. The SW one is far more substantial with @ 4mm metal. The BMW one I thought was rather flimsy and easily opened with a suitable implement. Bit more expensive, but for me protected what ever you store under your seat far better.
All the best
Yeah i 've looked it up Steve. I had hoped there would be some sort of seal at the back end and down the sides a little to stop water ingress into the space below. I have my K2 DVR unit in there and might have to move it because im thinking it would probably suffer water damage in a real downpour. Mark Hooton of this parish does a plate to and its cheaper, although its aluminium and only 2mm thick, but it doesnt have a seal either. Not sure how to proceed atm. Might move DVR unit into ecu compartment, other have it there with no ill effects on the video quality.Del,
The plate fits with the bmw and the wunderlich seat as well. It fits onto the passenger seat area the same way you would fit the seat.
I can pm photos if you want them.
