Pillion seat cover plate

This is what I fitted. It's lockable (via the plate stainless steel spigot AKA "nipple-proboscis" which firmly engages into the bikes pillion seat lock aperture / latch slot) and can released via the bike key in the same manner as removing the pillion seat. :thumb2

Please note:

1) For extra rigidity and security, I always ensure the plate is firmly held in place with dedicated ancillary webbing straps;

2) When touring, I affix short sacrificial (caravan awning) primary webbing loops to the dedicated plate slots and use these loops to attach my long secondary webbing straps.

Thats nice, but overkill for me

I wonder what a rear seat would look like devoid of any foam or cover

It has got some holes in it, thinking about the tool kit, but i wonder if something could be molded over it to give a flat plate

a vac form plastic plate to give a template to go off with some acrylic or similar

BTW how do you find the TT/ KH low low seat,

Ive just bought one of the bay .. will be interesting to see what it's like

Hi Santa, I hope you managed to set a good deal. I've previously posted about the absolutely superb TT / KH EXTRA low seat. Here's the link:

BTW: For the benefit of other folks, when you reply, could you please also include a link to the seat you bought from EvilBay. :D

Just looking at the pics, I reckon the Wunderlich plate would fit with the SW Motech rack strengthening part. Usual Wunderlich prices mind.......

Good spot.
Not sure how long it is though, and looks like it's a bolt-on rather than mounting on the pillion seat mounts for quick on-off & revert to pillion seat.

Get what you pay for sometimes.

I did a conversion using a removable plate ( via key) attached to the bottom of the bmw cover . This allows it to be removed easily when you want the pillion seat back on. Second hand parts and a bit of cutting.

Mark Hooton @Cymarc makes a lovely luggage plate to use in place of the rear pillion seat. The newer design is also a pop on pop off very similar to the SW Motech one, but Mark's is a bit more substantial.

He also does the Box thing, that fit's instead of the pillion seat, and is locakble, and pops on / pops off using the pillion seat lock.

Options really are

The BMW bolt on that looks good
SW Motech Seat rack
Cymarc plate
Cymarc box
Rallye Seat and cover

Indeed, but it would only be for the odd trips away with no pillion seat. If i was rear seatless permanently, then a more robust option would be the preferred choice

Good job..So when i come up for you to fit my TT suspension you might as well do that at the same time..:D I will bring some biscuits

Just fitted mine. I like it.
Is the answer to my touring, for ages just been sitting the bag across the rear seat, and it never did sit properly. Will now.

Just watch the hinges, a bit too fragile for my liking!

Stand up, look up, and open up!

Looks very tidy that Onahi..Think that one looks the best option.

I've got a spare one with mounting plate Del if you decide to fit one. Will dig it out tomorrow and take some pics and see what its worth. It's tidy, if memory serves me correctly.
