Well...

Up to this point we've had 159 positive replies. Out of that, I suppose we should deduct at least 1 where someone had their pump controller fail on them after posting. :blast

Although it was by no means scientific, it was interesting to note how most of the bikes appear to have covered distances in the mid teens. There were quite a few that had covered 20k+ and a few 40k+.

There were quite a few that had owned more than 1x 1200GS and a couple of people who have had 3x 1200s.

As for the weather & storage conditions... I think we may have disproved that theory... :augie

I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions...

Almost as many as the number of failures. So I'd call it evens at the moment :blast

A 50% failure rate of a single part would suggest a problem worthy of some consideration.

A big hand for the guy that sticks his neck out and tries to get BMW to do something about this :clap:clap:clap

Garaged, but I live in Vancouver. I ride all year round. It rains here all the time and I ride in it.

The bike sits well I am away. Last time was for 1 month.

Hi, I haven't had any failures (Touching wood very firmly)
Bike 1200 GSA Sep 06, used for one month then off road while my leg healed for 11 months. Back on road Sep 07 at 745 miles now 9500 miles. Used all weathers. Only probs to show are outer rear hub oil seal and low beam bulb. Getting high 40s mpg.
