I just had this email forwarded to me by a friend who's mate sent it to him;
"Beware the A49...
We have been riding there over the last few weeks and have noticed a heavy police presence. Not least on Saturday when we got tugged.
We all managed to obtain a section 59 warning ticket for anti-social behaviour and two of us got £60 fines for none standard plates, one got £30 fine for cans.
The copper explained that they were targeting bikes on the A49 due to a high level of accidents.
The car was an unmarked Ford Mondeo, 09 Ghia...
Just as well he did not have any speed equipment or cameras on board.
Martin."
I can't comment on how they were riding but knowing the source of the mail they are not certainly not youngsters and some may possibly be on GSs
So far as I am concerned if you have a dodgy plate or pipe then you can't complain if you get nicked ( which, may I point out, the author does not ) , however the seemingly blanket issuing of a section 59 ASBO to all concerned is a bit of a worry. I bet very few car drivers ever get them
I think this is especially of concern for those who ride in groups and like to make 'good progress'. The author does imply that they were probably exceeding the speed limit.
Anyway, go careful on the A49 , especially as most of it is now a 50 limit
