Puncture...Dear Mr BMW

bit of road kill in my tyre

No good mate. The number of times you get a puncture in a new or nearly new tyre:tears

Why is it never in a tyre that's worn out:nenau

Got a rear puncture when I was out playing today got home before I realized I had one, wheel off and a quick trip to my local MC mechanic and a plug fitted. Mine has the Tourance Next.

what he pulled out was a large splinter of bone ive not had that before, so its the first time ive been boned in the rear, hopefully the last too.

PUNCTURE

Its amazing how many lc owners have had puncture in the new tyres fitted , I had one at 1800 miles but the tyre sensors saved the day and was repaired no problem ,

If your getting rid of that tyre,i will take if from you :)

Good choice of colour,I have same colour bike with a st 13 plate .

Just ordered a bar bag too :thumby:

One here too:

Go this on the way to Cadwell, 300 miles on the tyre. I anticipated the worst and was ready to shell out for a new one but Bike Tyres in Leeds plugged and gave me the go ahead to carry on hooning at high speeds, £20!

Happy days.

Hi Graham
Sorry for your puncture did you notice the split pin was fitted incorrectly some twat hadnt opened it as specified in the manual:aidan

Is that the original tyre? and is it an Anakee 3?

Puncture aside what is your oppinion of these tyres? My March/April build is on Next but the rear wear rate seems high.

It wasn't a split pin, it was a very rusty nail and it looked a lot bigger when it came out!

I thought the tyre would be knackered as the nail had gone it at an angle, but all was good.

I'm happy with the tyres (Anakee 3's OE fitment) suprised at the level of grip on dry tarmac. Yesterday however was the first time I'd ridden the bike in anger in wet conditions.

It's maybe a bit unfair to judge after yesterday's ride as after such a long hot spell and then a cloud burst, it's inevitable that the roads would be very greasy, but I was still suprised how often the traction control kicked in.

I am essentially a fair weather jockey so wet road ability doesn't come as high as outright grip on my list. That said, I'm not convinced I'll be fitting anything different when it comes to chaging them.

After just over 1000 miles, they are starting to show signs of wear, I can't see the back tyre doing 3000 miles. But most of my mileage is reasonable speed (officer) hooning, so I'm maybe not the best way to judge.
