Quest update

Check out the Garmin website for latest version software for Quest unit (2.9)

Amongst other things it adds a volume control to the speak key of the unit so now Migsel (or was it his mate?) and me are able to alter the volume output into the amp unit mods. we cobbled for the bike coms.

It allows you to alter the volume in the car as well via the Quest unit rather than the thumb wheel - just set that to max. and play via the speak key - cool!

Hope this is of help to some out there - although I'm sure someone will find fault with it ! ! !

Hold the speech button down and you get a volume control on the screen. This wasn't available before.

Just noticed while I was there that City Select V 7.00 will be available from the end of the month.

Now, the question is, will it be worth registering and getting the free update to V 7.00 or waiting until next year and going for V 8.00 ?

The 'latest' I have on RAM-HOL-GA15 is 'some' pcs are leaving Seattle on a weekend flight on board the "World's favourite ".

These GA15's are in the first pcs being shipped and we're getting 'some'. I know who'se ordered ... and next week they could be going to :-

The first RAM-HOL-GA15 cradles arrived late yesterday. GPSW back orders being cleared today and going to those towns mentioned earlier. More coming in a few weeks.

Can anyone send me some digital pics of their RAM Quest mounts for the web site. Much appreciated.

As earlier thread mentions, I had a few pcs arrive late Tuesday and they went out yesterday (let's hope the A74 is clear).

SilentG is 'officially' the first to get his hands on 'em. We took some hurried pics in the car park, but his results look better than my attempts. It was out of the pack, attached onto the mount and clamped all within a matter of a few minutes.

Yosi is next in line for one. More coming in mid-end Jan 05.
