Hi all,
Due to an elbow injury I can't fully stretch it and I find the handlebar on my GS some what uncomfortable and I get some pain in my elbow.

Since some here have fitted the R1150R handlebar to their GS, I was wondering if any body here had the Wunderlich Touring Wellness Handlebar fitted to a R1150GS.

If so, were the cables and brake lines long enough?
Will the hand protectors fit back on?
Any improvement on original?

Thank you

Bars

Get some risers these will move the bars back a bit and it makes all ,the difference.

Thanks for that Dave, risers would take the h/bar even further away from me and make the problem worse.
I was thinking more in line of narrower and closer, I am 170cm/5'6".

risers...

you can get risers that also bring the bars back towards you.....

might be worth trying....(up and back risers...various sellers)

I will give the up & back a go and see how I go.

Nothing like first hand experience, thanks all for your feedback :thumb2

Hi, today I installed a pair of Rox 1R-P2SS risers on my R1150GS non ABS and my brake hose is too short by approx. 60mm to 80mm :(

I have asked a supplier of BMW parts for advise, waiting for an answer.

I went to a brake specialist and we looked on his catalog for fittings but didn't have the correct ones.

I have emailed a supplier of BMW parts for advise, waiting for answer.

What do you think my options are? Can I use one from another model that is longer?

Maybe a 1150GSA one would suit and be longer

Thanks Johnny, I'll have to find out about the GSA hose.

Jaws, did you have to get a longer brake hose for your bike when you installed the handlebar risers?
Can you share where you sourced it from, the length and maybe how much?

Paul

Hi all,
I had a new longer brake hose made up today at the local brake and clutch place for AU$150, a bit more than I expected to pay but not much of a choice in little Hobart.

All set for the weekend now.

Thanks all for your feedback.

Well, my R1150GS has turned from a riding giraffe into riding a cheetah!!

I shaved 20 to 30mm off the foam in the seat (did that myself with an electric knife, re-glue and stapled) fitted the Rox riser/backs.

Next what I'll do is lower the pegs (which I'll have a go at making my own) as that would make it even more comfortable.

Thanks Jaws100 the risers/back did the trick. :thumby:

This is how I did the pegs on SWMBO F650GS I didn't lower them but gave them a bigger foot print

Adrian, that is exactly what I had in mind.
Great job and thanks for the pic.
I'll do them this weekend then send them away to get galvanised.
