I think that the whole 'get it running' thing might be easier than you think. I recently resurrected a Suzuki Bandit 600, that had not run for eight years. I'm no mechanic. but oil/filters/plugs, plus hook it up to a car battery, and it was running within an hour. Couple of tyres and it sailed through the MOT.
