You're right to be cynical. Was at my dealer's today. The salesman said that he has a lot of contact with BMW UK's Head of Marketing. Talking about he launch of the new K1300 in Southern Spain the BMW man said that Press Launches are a nightmare with most of the journos just wanting to go on the piss at BMW's expense. BMW ferry lots of bikes over and most of the journos take the bike out for a few miles, get the photographer to take a pic of them going round a bend, repair to the bar and then write a long article detailing their extensive test ride.
Which is precisely why articles such as this one are good to see.
I enjoy reading Kev Ash's stuff as he's normally quite comprehensive and covers some of the more worthwhile (Insert Boring here if you're a regular MCN reader
