R1150GSA v R1200GSA?

Hello All,

I've recently ridden a R1200GSA and liked it very much.

Unfortunately I can't afford one at the moment, so would like to get a R1150GSA instead.

Please can anyone comment on how different they are to ride, and how the performance compares, is the 1150 much slower?

Iv had both,1150gsa feels much heavier and a tad more sluggish,build quality is better and more reliable,1200gsa has a more mod feel lighter faster,but build quality imho is suspect in lots of places,1200s are everywhere,1150s getting hard to find in mint condition,id go for a real nice 1150 or you could by a nice minta Katoom for less money,oh and if you get a 1150 make sure its got crashbars cause if it goes 5 degrees off the vertical that babies going down,well if its full of luggage and up in the mountains in spain it is.......

1150vs 1200

i have ridden not owned a 1200gs lighter easy to get off the stand
not happy about the niggly faults which are expensive to repair

1150 older heavier seem to have more paint but i love my 1150 with a passion don't think i could love a 1200 as much
also the wife also loves our 1150
i have managed to do all the maintanance without 16 ecu's strapped around my body it also loves 20/50 oil haha!!!!!!!!

I would go with the 1200, as I know nothing about either model and in fact dont even own a motorcycle, but I can type, hope that helps!

last night I dreamed,I had swapped my new 1200tu for a mint 1150gsa se.

I awoke in a cold sweat,and kid you not, the dream was so realistic I had to go into the shed to make sure my bike was still there

Thankfully it was,and I retuned to bed.

It must have been around me bumping into my old bike and it's new owner at seaways cafe on Sunday ?

Talking of camp, I saw one of them new fangled plasticcy 1200's parked outside the nail varnish and false tan place earlier today. The rider must have been ever so brave being out in this cold weather.
