I have a 2006 GS and it has recently developed a misfire at high revs under load. It seems more noticeable when winding the throttle on after being on over run. I seem to remember a earlier thread about this but can't find it. For info the bike has covered just under 18000 miles and is fitted with Remus headers and Akropovic can.

Any suggestions?

Check that the spark plug caps are pushed on properly, easy things first.

I hope for the sake of engine longevity that your mixture isn't running too lean.

Maybe worth a dyno run to check it.

Cheers for the replies, bike is now booked into Canons for service and misfire.

I couldn't leave things alone. I've located the fault to a cracked spark plug. At just under 18000 miles I'm not sure how or why it is cracked. Just proves the point..... always start at the basics.
