Hi,
Learned today that even if the clutch lever switch goes click-click when you pull and release the lever, it still may not make contact to allow bike starting in gear.
My switch would click with lever about 1" from full in against the bars.
Took out the switch and cleaned it but in reality, it just needed adjusting.
Loosen the likkle allen-screw (2mm key) on underside of the assembly and you are able to move the switch on a pivot. I moved it to make the click audible about midway in to the bars and all is well.
FWIW.
