R1300GS / the good the bad & the ugly

Evskij...You dont have a clue...The Pikes Peak might look beautiful but the regular MS with 19 inch frontwheel rides better and a S1000XR eats it up in a straight line and in the twisties as I actually have ridden Both and not read what a few wined & dined presstitutes had to say...If I wanted a XR I would have already bought one back in 2015 and had moved on...But I love Boxers - Telelever -shaftdrive for obvious reasons !
But you are right that BMW does not care saying the new GS does not need more power...Nobody needs a motorcycle ! But people who wanted more power dont need to buy a new GS now...And linked foot brakes and smaller tank are just icing on the cake...LOL

Dingdong...Nice looking stable...I take the old 1260 that still felt like a real twin and sounded like a Ducati should !

Doesn’t look like he will have to wait long as there is another launch on the 26th which they are calling “Long Distance Performance” which I would imagine is a GSA.

I would say it’ll be an RT then. Doubt it’ll be a GSA just yet as GS’ are barely filling up the showroom around the world.

Maybe but looking at the Facebook post it doesn’t look like a RT to me.

Nor does it look like a GSA…something much slimmer and lighter. Is it a Pikes Peak competitor? A HP something or other?

But did they not launch that at the IOM, does that have long range capabilities like a GSA ?

So the long distance must be comfort related not range related then.

No that was a prototype. At 233kg without the performance pack, so I doubt it’ll have a 30l tank 🤣

It is basically Audi Group (Ducati) and BMW are competing (having a balls off) not only in a form of four wheels but in two wheel format too. The Ducati Multistrada RS launched yesterday and a M1000XR next week. Both are similar stature bikes, BMW makes more poke. Not that I care for it.
My KTM makes 159 bhp. In near five year of ownership, I doubt I’ve once touched every one of those 159 bhp. The bike is by far more capable than I trust to be capable myself to hang on to it.

IMO totally pointless motorbikes for our roads, (unless your some track day god) 100-130BHP is the sweet spot,

Latest and most informative, real ride, to date. Jury is out still for me on this one.
