I have the possibility of acquiring a74 R90s ex USA. Just a quick couple of questions:
1) are their engine nos or obvious signs to indicate its original and not a R100/ R80 copy.
2) It doesn't have a kickstart yet some do and others dont, whats the rule.

3) owner has lots of bikes and is vague on price ( no info on miles yet) so wants an offer, Im thinking £6k , is this daft ?

Please go easy on me Im a F650gs owner with a BSA so not too much piss taking.

Steve, there are engine numbers specific to all R90 models. Delorto pumper carbs only on the 90S and if I recall correctly blue or black anodised calipers (sorry I can't remember which) not the silver ones on the 80 and 100 models. Watch out for a standard R90 posing as a 90S.
Some had kick starts, usually the earlier ones, some others did not.
If the bike is in good condition I think you will be lucky at 6K. I hope this helps.
Please don't take the piss I have three BSAs.:beerjug:

Cheers Nick I ggogled that this morning following Edwards comments. It really show how few bikes were made in the 70s

Have you ever ridden a 90s ?

One of the most over hyped bikes available. IMHO.

On monday (19th sept) a 1975 R90S sold at Bonhams for £20,125. Last used in 1976 it had 2656 miles on the clock. It was the smoke orange model.
