Rear tire sensor Problem

I've just come back from Prague and whilst travelling up through Germany I picked up a nail in the rear tire, fortunately there was a tire shop nearby where it happened so I got them to fit me a new tire, while doing so they snapped off my tire pressure sensor. The guy who was fitting the tire by coincidence also had a GS1200 so replaced the sensor from one from his own bike.

I understand they need to be coded with the system to enable them to work, does anybody in the Bath or Bristol area have the necessary equipment to code the new sensor so the bike recognises it?

The warning light being constantly illuminated is doing my head in.

Best Regards Mark

Hi Stonehenge, I rang Bath Road Motorcycles and they informed me that they do not have the facility to re-code the new sensor, Dick Lovett's can't fit me in until the end of September which is a real pain, has no one access to a 911 thingy? or does it need to be done by the proper program.

GS-911 will do the job. But ideally you'll also need the code which is (or should be) on a sticker on the 'new' sensor. If you don't have the code, I think you can still do it by letting the tyre right down, then re inflating it to "wake up" the sensor and get it talking to the bike's computer. Still needs a GS-911 though.

Any GS-911 will do the job, although as it requires info to be written to the bike's computer, I believe it will "use up" one of the 5 slots allowed on the Enthusiast version.

Does anyone local have a GS-911 that I could utilise? I don't mind making a contribution, I just need it sorted before my next tour.

From seeing Mike at Stroud Motorcycles last week - I believe he has all tools / diagnostics / programming gear from the old BVM - give him a call 01453 297170

only 30 mins for me from near Castle Combe so about same from Bath I would expect.
