Reims - avoid ..!!

Well it’s been going on for years, we had a new GS stolen from the centre of 12 bikes after they moved a couple of older RT’s to get to it. The Mercure Hotel in Reims. Unfortunately the owner didnt get a response from Datatool as he had turned his phone off. I spotted it at 7:00am after my morning jog. Recovered by the owner form an underground garage with the unwilling assistance of the Police.

Thanks - I dont have Facebook :)
The IBIS Tinqeux has always been my overnight stop on the bike when heading south

I use the now Campanile Reims Centre Cathedrale, with its own underground parking. The entrance is in the city centre one way system so unlikely to be targeted by thieves with a van. Something like that Novotel with surface level parking has easier access for them as they only need to use the pedestrian gate and it has easy access to the city's exit routes.

And the French police too cowardly to do anything about it despite knowing exactly where the bikes were.
They have a well known history for cowardice. Wankers.

If they were Italian, at least they'd change sides when it came to the crunch! ;)

You could always try staying at the Royal Champagne Hotel, halfway between Reims and Epernay, at something like £800/nt. I bet they have the sort of security that will bury the bodies of anyone trying to tamper with anything in their car park. There were some stunning vehicles there when we stopped for lunch…
