Do you need to be more manly to ride one of these than an HP2??

I'll take my 550 'berg over the aprillia any day......

Most definitely Mav, the HP Sauce is a pussy compared to that bastard of all bastards!
Trust me, you need gonads the size of a champion Hereford to ride that. I'm working on it...![]()
I cannot comment on the Enduro but for on road the 550 SM version is quick, but not that quick.........
It revs well and at around 135kgs wet (guess) it handles well at but it certainly is no fire breathing monster
Although the box ratios will be different for the SM version tooI'll take my 550 'berg over the aprillia any day......

I have heard good things about them once mapped with Akro's but not tried one. The road version goes well up to 100 and was a real hoot, wheel up antics off the throttle and clutch were a doddle but.......Errr the one you must have rode must have been shagged....Although the box ratios will be different for the SM version too
I'm not talking about top end, I'm talking pure grunt and acceleration!
Syc's is not standard I hasten to add, full Akro Ti system etc and has also been re-mapped. Really, it is a 'fire breathing monster!'

Something will have to give...Feck feck feck feck...........
I just did not realise you can pick a new one up with a free Akro for under 5k - that is a lot of bike for that money.
Thing is I have a wife who aspires to spend that much on an AISomething will have to give...
I thought it was 60 days? Better than the 30 days you get with a 'Berg *if* you don't race it.Trouble is, there is no warranty with the Aprilia...That is just out-right stupidity, but then so is the bike...
Had BMW on the phone and I'm getting new stanchions and bushes under warranty

I've just picked up my bike ... both forks were replaced under warranty
When BMW first looked at them, I was told the stanchions would be replaced. However after BMW stripped the forks down, they found the forks were too damaged to be repaired. I had to wait about two weeks for the new set to arrive from Germany.

I'm still inside the two years, but now at 17000 miles it looks like I'll be asking BM for my third replacement set of forksAt 14 months and 11000 miles my second replacement forks have just been ordered.
I've been onto BMW Customer Services and basically any future replacements outside of the two year warranty period will only be done free by a "goodwill gesture" through your dealer.
Past history of each bike, and others(?) will be looked at. Of course there was no admittance of a known problem (hmmmmmmmm).
