Replacement forks

I cannot comment on the Enduro but for on road the 550 SM version is quick, but not that quick.........

It revs well and at around 135kgs wet (guess) it handles well at but it certainly is no fire breathing monster, it can in fact be ridden very nicely, is it a suitable replacement for the HP2? Not sure, it just seems a bit hmm... to me. Would I have one? Yes but not to replace the HP2.

Errr the one you must have rode must have been shagged....:nenau Although the box ratios will be different for the SM version too

I'm not talking about top end, I'm talking pure grunt and acceleration!

Syc's is not standard I hasten to add, full Akro Ti system etc and has also been re-mapped. Really, it is a 'fire breathing monster!'

I have heard good things about them once mapped with Akro's but not tried one. The road version goes well up to 100 and was a real hoot, wheel up antics off the throttle and clutch were a doddle but....... :nenau

I would still give one house room but then the HP2 would have to go and that is not an option, for me the HP2 in motard trim is still *the* bike.

How does the Enduro compare to the HP2 up to say 80 or 100 in straight line stuff?

I just did not realise you can pick a new one up with a free Akro for under 5k - that is a lot of bike for that money.

Thing is I have a wife who aspires to spend that much on an AI :blast Something will have to give...

Trouble is, there is no warranty with the Aprilia...:eek: That is just out-right stupidity, but then so is the bike...
 
Down here we get a 1 year warranty on the berg.........:thumb Never had any problems with mine
 
I've just picked up my bike ... both forks were replaced under warranty :thumb2

When BMW first looked at them, I was told the stanchions would be replaced. However after BMW stripped the forks down, they found the forks were too damaged to be repaired. I had to wait about two weeks for the new set to arrive from Germany.

That's practically a brand new bike then - bringing it to the Plough tonight, you're quite safe I'm in Uncle Albert's van and if I wasn't there'll be another one there to confuse my line of fire :D

Have had a Huskie 570 that was quik shame it falls apart whalst riding and engine life span is crap gearbox lasted 5000km thats allso the span of the engine

Ktm 625 supercomp betifull machine bigend bearings and clutch at 2500 km

Have seen the aprils racing they dont look licke they have any guts ok for inside kartbahn maybe but on Angelsee T- Grose they looked under powerd
no match to a Hp2

I'm still inside the two years, but now at 17000 miles it looks like I'll be asking BM for my third replacement set of forks :blast
I can't feel any movement riding the bike, but up on the paddock stand (for a new front tyre) careful inspection shows the nitrite coating rubbing off and play in both legs.

Wonder if I'm eating into the profit BM made on my bike yet?
