Iam considering replacing my grips on my GS as there worn through more than an old set of boxer shorts

How easy is it to replace them as ive watched few videos and iam nervous about cutting through the heated grips...

I should also say ive fitted grip puppies as a temporary measure and not too keen on them

Really easy. Get them a little warm (hair dryer or heat gun) and bend them away from the heater element and cut with a new sharp blade.
Then use hairspray to fit new grips.

The Beemer grips are not that simple. The heating elements are fragile (though not as bad as the old wire wound type) and on the left an under sleeve is used to attach the switch block. That tube (being bigger than normal bar diameter) makes aftermarket grips a struggle to fit.

Thats my biggest worry
