One day the RID on my '95 1100 (Fuel, Temp, Gear indicator and Clock) is working fine, the next day it's not...

The RID back light is still working, but that's all. Not the end of the world, but frustrating nonetheless. I've checked the fuse, the plug from the RID to the main loom (sits under the front of the tank) and that all earth's are earthed. All seems ok.

Has anyone experienced such a problem? Perhaps the complete display is knackered? Perhaps I'm missing something obvious? Any pointers greatfully received.

Happened to me the other day.

Seat off.

Plastic cover on the right hand side of the petrol tank off.

Undid the electrical connector under there and gave both ends a quick spray with electrical contact cleaner.

Job done :thumb2

Mine played up and pulling fuse 3 (15A) and reseating it did the trick. (GSA)

If it is the RID that is faulty, don't chuck it away as I am after one to dismantle to see what LEDs it uses as the backlight source so I can make a mod to change them to blue/green/red etc.
