"If it's wet weather ride report"
As the weather was much worse today than on the previous trial runs - I did the full route this morning and its not too enjoyable in the rain - just to let you know.
Pot holes full of water so you don't know if its a puddle or not.
Puddles that could hide a pot hole.
Quite a lot of standing water in hollows in the road.
Roads much more slippery than in the dry. I know thats the case anyway but with the gravel and detritus on the road it was a bit lively in places although never close to being out of control.
If anyone is at all put off by riding narrow roads and lanes in the wet then don't put yourself a risk. It's the sort of riding I am OK with but some of the rain today was pretty hard and visibility was very low and the rain was a good lubricant to the road condition!!
Lots of early summer sights though. Lots of lambs and foals and calves and rabbits. Quite a few primroses still about, cow slips and loads of great blue bells. Farm yard smells to sear your nostrils
A few walkers and cyclists about and quite a few horses and of course cars about with pretty much no regard for bikers

The route from Stanford (West of Folkestone) is the worst for potholes and there are a few "T" junctions where the triangular island spreads across the road so braking has to be carefully judged.
Great views across Kent when there was no cloud or rain.
I've knocked the last lanes bit off the route - it means crossing the top of a busy road which would possibly string everybody out too much. The route will effectively end in a layby on the A249 when people can run to the A2 or M20 to get home.
Hope the weather is better tomorrow. Metcheck shows sunny and cloudy - so it may be OK for all takers

We can stop for breakfast or run on to lunch break - feedback tomorrow at pre-ride brifing please.
See you down there
