As it will effect obviously effect all of Great Britain if the sweats decide to bugger off and become 'Nordic' whatever that really means, we should all get a vote surely??

No you shouldn't. Merry Christmas....![]()
You might be surprised!
There was also a reference to Norway, a similar sized country at a similar latitude with a similar sized population. What it didn't mention is that the percapita GDP of Norway is twice that of Scotland.
That's irrelevant. As I've said before, Westminster has a controlling interest over all the member countries of the UK. Scotland is deciding whether or not it wants to opt out of the UK, not divorce England. I know that notion might offend Anglocentric sensibilities but it's the way it is. So it's not up to the English to decide whether or not Scotland should stay in the UK any more than it is for Scots to decide if England should stay in the UK; even if things might actually work out better if we did vote the English out and continue as the United Kingdoms of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Capiche....?
So you pay considerably more tax than the average person? WOW!!!! Thanks for sharing
Couldn't care less what your desire is. Unless Harpenden has suddenly shifted north by 300 miles, you have no say in the vote in September so it would be wise for you to stay out of this thread.![]()
Thanks for the advice but I think I'll ignore it if you don't mind. As a contributor to the current Union and all that it stands for and has fought for I would like to share my views and hears those of others...
nothing to do with me but my god how do you lot intend to vote? From a spectators view there seems to be zero facts on either side, the reality is no-one actually knows how it would all work out. You gonna vote with your head or your heart on this one
You fought for the union? You must be VERY old.
....apologies that's not what I intended to say or thought Id written
....Then again these imbeciles in Holyrood can't even build an office for themselves or a toy train track without fucking it up never mind building a bridge we don't need so there isn't much hope there either.
I think the answer is just to get rid of politicians.
I'm not being disrespectful but it is nothing to do with anyone outside Scotland as it's our future that's at stake. Besides which most opinion from south of the border seems to be either " good riddance, you get more than you deserve" or " we'd vote to get rid of you if we had the chance"
Nor really implied, just trying to take the piss since I can't get excited about the whole thing, especially when someone from down south tries to discuss it.

I find it interesting but a bit depressing that the independence debate seems very one dimensional ie Only couched in terms of ££££££££
There is a MUCH larger view here which is the freedom to BE the NATION that existed before the union of the crowns .
All of the discussion is centered around a very narrow horizon fiscal position ,which will be better or poorer depending on how the Scottish people would organise themselves after becoming a nation again .

No ! This is about Scotland deciding its own future.![]()
