Here's one for Fanum. 4 x generations of Kimmels. There's 85 years between my old man and Ava who'll be one next month.

We spent the day yesterday walking about in 27 degree sunshine. Took my dad to visit his sister who'd made an old traditional meal of Dumpfnudeln with a wine sauce. She used 2 litres of Riesling for the sauce! And you felt it

It's amazing how much better my dad looks now than he did when we first arrived. A couple days in the sunshine has given him back his healthy colour. He definitely looks good for 86, even if I say so myself.

I'm so glad that Lynsey made the effort to come out and join us for a few days. Ava is the only one of her 4 kids that my Dad hadn't met. She's been like a wee tonic for him. It's been magic to see them together.

We're back him tomorrow but this has been a truly brilliant visit back to Jockgrim. My old man is already asking when we're coming back. I think he's enjoyed it too.
