What a wreck, I am prepared to scrap it off for you for fifty quid, and you can pay me with paypal as well if that helps... :augie

EDIT - 4k posting as well :D

EDIT a bit more, is that a Motoplat coil on it?

It looks like a BSA but have not got a clue what model. A retired mechanic who lives beside my parents has restored one which I reckon is similar to this.

Possibly this model, a 1968 shooting star. It looks very like it. The only difference I can see is the chain is on the left and the dropped bars.

...and this one is a 2 stroke 250 if the number plate on the fairing is anything to go by.

Looks NSU ish to me

So that is a Motoplat coil then - I had Motoplat ignition on my Montessa but this looks a lot older, late 60's maybe?

Take great care if you try to replace the HT lead!

Motoplat is right....have been given the same advice re replacing a lead..........but have a spare complete unit.........

And late 60's is spot on too....................1967 250cc single..........:thumb2

So this is maybe Scorpion based? Nice to see the extended float chamber as well, The headstock bracing is impressive and I assume they are Marzocchi forks although however I would half expect Earles type forks up front given the age.

Lovely bike, I would certainly give it house room, I still dream of a late 60's stroker to play with. Are you going to parade it or race, or just enjoy?

Impala based................

My Son raced it in the Classic and Single Cylinder events at Kirkistown...Aghadowey...Nutts Corner and Bishopscourt a few years ago and its been laid up since.......it was raced at the TT before we got our hands on it.....and it will be raced again next year!!!! :thumb
