1971 Ducati 250![]()

It looks like a BSA but have not got a clue what model. A retired mechanic who lives beside my parents has restored one which I reckon is similar to this.
Possibly this model, a 1968 shooting star. It looks very like it. The only difference I can see is the chain is on the left and the dropped bars.
Now we're getting somewhere....................Is that a Montesa M on the crankcase cover?

So that is a Motoplat coil then - I had Motoplat ignition on my Montessa but this looks a lot older, late 60's maybe?
Take great care if you try to replace the HT lead!

The whole thing is back to front Marc.....................................That head's on back to front.

So this is maybe Scorpion based? Nice to see the extended float chamber as well, The headstock bracing is impressive and I assume they are Marzocchi forks although however I would half expect Earles type forks up front given the age.
Lovely bike, I would certainly give it house room, I still dream of a late 60's stroker to play with. Are you going to parade it or race, or just enjoy?
