A dealer local to me has had an Iconc RT sat in the showroom for a few weeks, and can't sell it at full price. I'm sure they'd do a great deal on it, if the timing is right.
White elephant?

If you wanted a similar specced RT but without the special seat & paint, how much less would it be than the Iconic. The dealers I have seen in the South have sold all those they could get their hands on, no idea if they wanted or could sell more.
I love the colour, but I had a 2013 90th edition RT, which I didn't gel with. Rode it for 6000 miles to be sure.
As I say above ^^^ at retail, about £3k.
I think only those that bought one as soon as they were release, or were one of those who preordered, who paid that.

I was looking at one at my local dealer yesterday. I asked how much the same specced bike would be in standard colours and told 16.5k.

I'm between two stools regarding forking out over £20,000 for a motorcycle.
If the residual value of a limited edition stays strong then it's almost a semi investment.
Now I know that the top case is a bit special but that amount of money for a paint job is asking a bit much.
I've cynically got this vision of a team sitting around a table and debating how much money they can get out of us and one puts his hand up and says, "Change the colour, number them up to 100 and charge them £2500".
I think in years to come they may well be sort after but how will they compare to the future advancements that will be made to the RT that will also make the new bikes sought after.
I really need to see one in the flesh.
All the more reason not to waste your money then, in my opinion. The problem is, it's not a "BMW" special edition, like an HP, it's just a paint job, so will not command that much of a premium, if any, over a regular bike.
Great attitude. You're right in a way. You'd only spend it on something else anyway. But Hey... You only live once, so why not
Funny you should say that, remember the old K1200RS in yellow with the chess board graphics, they charged an extra £500 for the yellow one!I'm between two stools regarding forking out over £20,000 for a motorcycle.

Knapdog .....be prepared to part with some money if you do
There was nothing wrong with my TC, and sorry to see it go! But Hey... You only live once, so why not

The red/smoke paint job is very pleasing - it reminds me of a 1979 R100RT that I owned many years ago

It might be interesting to ask Tunnruk what an equivalent paint job would cost to do from scratch? Although I understand BMW have patented the Iconic colour scheme.
