RUKKA SRO

Hi, yes I have an SRO suit, absolutely superb piece of kit until it gets hot, anything over 22 degrees and I can't wear it. Amazing in the cold though, blow the inner jacket up, zip the extra goretex collar on, put your gloves over the stretchy cuffs but under the outer jacket, it doesn't get better. Keep buying other things for the summer, spent a bloody fortune, nothing compares to the Rukka. At the moment I have an SRO suit, an original HG Tourag Rallye suit, a forcefield top and bottom and just bought a Teiz Motorsports suit from the US. Always feel naked or under protected when not wearing the SRO.

I've had the SRO before (this is the 2003 - 2007 model - the same as Danny's I think; the current one has a diagonal chest zip and red stitching)

It was a superb piece of kit, but mine kept getting sent back to Rukka to repair leaks. Rukka were always steadfast in doing so, but it was a pita.

I have now a Rukka Armax suit (actually obtained foc from when my SRO jacket leaked for the 3rd time - thanks Rukka!). Its got the majority of the SRO features, less for the AirVantage liner and contains less Armacor.

I do rate the Armax as a better suit overall though; a bit more comfortable plus a few more pockets and vents than the SRO.

I keep an eye out for whats new and 'better', but there is nothing out there which can match it, IMHO. Possibly the Halvarssons safety suit comes close, but tbh I've not actually seen one (apart from at the NEC a few years ago).

I've also crash tested the Armax over about 20 yds and 45mph (if memory serves, I did a write up a while ago). It did its job, and held together - though obviously needing repairs to replace damaged sections.

SmartRiders in Christchurch and most Infinity shops keep the Armax in stock. I think they would have to order the SRO in especially. Alternatively, have you considered the Lancelot suit? Might not be everyones cup of tea, and is very expensive - even by Rukka standards.
