Rukka

I also asked about guarantee's etc and was told that if I had any problems with official UK Rukka agents to let them know as they are obliged to honour Rukka's guarentee no mater what country it is purchased.

the facts
all rukka dealers in the uk cant send off a bikerland rukka jacket as you in a receipt from the uk that is a fact
i no this as my rukka has gone back and there will not repair without uk receipt

tranam r the uk rukka and there advise anyone with a bikerland to send it back

i agree that its not fair that uk dealers get the shaft as bikerland sell the rukka cheaper than trade ,but on the bright side rukka is a good product and my rukka lasted for many offroad trips and 2 crashes

hope this helps anyone that thinks uk dealers can help,we cant as tranam stop us .we all like to but :blast rules r rules

anyway i have a klim now and love it :augie

Am I the only one having trouble understanding this:augie

if you buy from uk then uk can send off for repair
if you buy outside you cant send it through uk dealer

Through a UK dealer, I can understand, but what about the UK Rukka DISTRIBUOR directly? I am asking because I have bought two garments from Bikerland.de and I'm willing to challenge the Canadian Rukka distributor if they ever refuse to honour the warranty, it there is a problem.

I can see peoples points...

..but isn't buying a product cheap from abroad, then expecting dealer back-up from the UK seems very much like wanting the best of both worlds? :nenau

The UK importer isn't responsible for your product surely?....but the product is still a Rukka, so if you don't want to return it through the country of origin, then surely you'd have to contact Rukka International and see what they can arrange.

If I did buy from Bikerland, I'd be making a conscious choice, and would expect to be told where to go if I took my suit to my local dealer.

One of the reasons I didn't buy my suit from Bikerland was to guarantee the UK warranty and dealer back up.
If I did buy a second suit, I would seriously consider Bikerland, for the cost saving, and from most reports excellent customer service anyway...but would understand that I'm sacrificing my UK warranty.

....just my 2p's worth :thumb2

+1 glad someone else said it first.:clap

Why would/should a UK importer be interested in resolving a problem that you have with something that they didnt import ...you did !:blast

You are free to go abroad to buy and you are free to return it to where you bought it from if you have a problem:pullface

BTW this is a bloody old thread.

Let's put it this way for the sake of discussion: you live in Germany. You buy a Rukka jacket from BikerLand (or any other German merchant for that matter.) The Rukka warranty is five years. For some reason, your business demands that you go live in, say, the UK, for three years. Your jacket fails after one year. Do you think a UK dealer would be entitled to refuse to take care of the warranty? I don't think so. And the UK Rukka distributor even less so.

Because its a condition of their agreement with Rukka, I'd imagine. The dealer isn't bearing the cost anyway, Rukka is.

the five year wty is with the german shop as you need an invoice of shop and date

in the uk you need a uk invoice ....fact as i have spoken to the rukka uk :thumb2
is to shop bikerland selling rukka in the uk cheaper than the dealer can buy trade

rukka uk has the final word not the dealer anyway

the fact is if we could help we would then you have customer loyalty
and thats more important that a rukka suit from germany :D

Of course, Rukka UK could stop ripping the arse out of the UK consumer with their prices. An Armas Jacket retails at £1025 now but in Germany the retail price is 949 euros, which works out at the current exchange rate of 1.15 to the pound at £825. There are suppliers in German who will do them for a fair bit less than retail too. I bought a Rukka Kalihari jacket and trousers from Bikerland De just before Christmas for £702 including delivery. The retail price at the time in the UK was £729 for the jacket and £515 for the trousers.

..if you write to rukka.com they will pass it on to tranam and as long as you have a receipt to prove the date of purchase they will need to handle and product faults, as the warranty is pan european.....

Have a ride across to Wunderbar Deutschland ... bought a Rukka Armas suit in Adenau and saved myself £500.00 :thumb

Slight problem with the 'zip' ... sorted over here in Blighty no probs. The guarantee is a five year full European guarantee :thumb
