My Santiago boots developed a leak yesterday whilst riding for 4 hours in pissing it down rain
I called Astles today and discussed the problem as the boots are 2 years old now and 20k under the soles
To be fair I wasn't expecting much but to my joy and surprise I got a call about 4 pm to say that although the boots are no longer made they have sourced a pair in my size at another dealers and they will be with me by Monday !
I'm well chuffed as I love the boots and didn't want to have to hunt for a different pair
And thank you very much and hats odd to Astles for such customer service

I love mine. Very comfortable to walk in too.

Don't make them any more, you say?:tears

I was upset when he told me they don't make them any more then relieved when he said he had sourced a pair as I love the all round look and comfort of the boot and was narked when they leaked

im also a fan of the santiago, mine started leaking after 4 years and found that they have been replaced by the more expensive gravel boot.i mananged to buy a brand new pair for £175 from riders of cardiff:thumb

Is this thread praising the Santiago boot, or Astle's?

My most recent visitS to Astle's I got the feeling I was a bit of a cash cow for them, I'm afraid. Sorry if I've pissed on anyone's bonfire and taken the thread off topic.

I felt the same way on occasion and have been critical of them in the past but on this occasion they have been excellent.
As for praising or otherwise of the boots then yes a bit of both but it was difficult to decide where to place the thread !

Same as TCX Infinity Gore-Tex

The boots used to be made by TCX in Italy, the Santiago were near identical to the TCX Infinity Gore-Tex boot. I believe TCX still sell them at present, maybe an alternative if the BMW stocks dry up?

I bought the Hein-Gericke version as it was cheaper than TCX for the same product with the same guarantee. A shame H-G went bust as I will need a new pair next year, mine are almost worn out.
