Scratched my metal panniers

Give the guy a break and sympathise with him a little and try to think of it a bit like treading in dog shit in a pair of new shoes !!

I trod in dog turd once, smearing it over my seat, onto the offside foot peg and... To top it all.. Sat in it.

My biker mate brotherhood bond companions sat around laughing, not least as I only discovered it two hours later. I also managed to get some onto my gloves when trying to wipe it off with one Wet Wipe and an old envelope, which only added to their mirth. Feck 'em.

I feel for the OP.................. Not only has he got a damaged pannier, but everyone's taking the piss out of him too !

You lot should be ashamed of yourselves...........................

Reading this made I larf though.

Mad accountant...... Not sure what the finish is on your panniers, but could you scotchbrite pad the mark out by rubbing/polishing along with the grain of the aluminium ?...... That's if it is a grained finish.

Do a search for "Triple" "tripple" "mad accountant"...............

See if you can spot a trend................

Poor guy, mines a 2004 gs I daren't look for scratches it's all scratched. Gives it character. Remember the sixties when you could get stick on bullet holes for your windscreen.

Another perfect 12GSA owner.............:D

Hey, I resent that....I upgraded from my 1150 to a TB (take cover!!!) and I think it is unbeco....... Hey wait a minute.....do you mean to say the panniers actually COME OFF!!!

WOW....I always said that the advice and support you get on this forum is worth every penny....I know see why this is posted in the technical section....how blind I was but now i see.

Panniers - ye it's a bastard i know, but there will be other marks, bangs, knocks, scratches etc and you wont feel so bad next time - adds to the character

After the initial post Johnny Boxer wrote "FFS" which for me summed it all up beautifully and concisely and that should have been the end of the thread.:nenau

Well, I must have a large Helmet as I'm sure it won't fit.... Note I said sure co's I have never tried... The Panniers are under my work bench :thumb2

Perhaps I'll drag them out, fit them and try to see if my XXL Helmet will fit...

TBH I always leave my Helmet on my Mirror.... One day some one will nick it and I'll be fooked... Hope they don't nick my clocks atbthe same time...:bounce1

If you look really closely you can see the scratches that privet made.

Thank you for sharing your summation of JB's summary with us, beautifully and concisely. That the thread didn't close in line with your best expectations is indeed regrettable but hey-ho, that's life.
